All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.
The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.
We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

Every year, 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide, and 1 million will die before their first birthday. Your gift helps the March of Dimes fund research, education, advocacy and programs that help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
2015 event chair Kate Sirignano, lead chef Jamie “The Bear” McDonald of Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue, and the event committee cordially invite you to the 19th annual Signature Chefs Auction, featuring the best in cuisine and mixology from around Greater Hartford. Guests will also bid on a unique assortment of live and silent auction packages including experiences with the chefs, entertainment and travel, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the very special Fund the Mission initiative - all to benefit the March of Dimes mission to give all babies a healthy start.
We thank Kate Sirignano, Principal at Image Marketing Consultants, for serving as our 2015 Chairperson of Signature Chefs Auction. “I am honored to be able to serve as the Chair of this year’s Signature Chefs Auction and to support the March of Dimes in their incredible endeavors,” Sirignano said. “My own son was born 15 weeks premature, weighing just over one pound, and underwent multiple surgeries and medical procedures during his 112 day stay in the NICU. The March of Dimes supported us in numerous ways during a very difficult time and we are humbled to be able to help pay it forward in support of other families who benefit from this wonderful organization.” Chef Jamie “The Bear” McDonald, Co-owner and Pitmaster of Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ, is also serving as Lead Chef of this year's event. “I am honored that the March of Dimes asked me to serve as the lead chef for their annual fundraiser. Bear’s participated in the Signature Chefs Auction last year and Brunch for Babies in May. We were highly impressed by the level of attention and passion that goes into organizing these events, and look forward to helping make it the most successful fundraiser yet,” said McDonald. “Our son was born premature and spent almost two weeks in the NICU at Hartford Hospital. As young, first time parents our minds were put at ease knowing our baby was under the best possible care and we could stay close by in a private family room. Our son is now a strong, healthy 18 year old that recently graduated high school and works hard alongside us to learn the family business. It is my hope that supporting an organization such as the March of Dimes will give more parents such as me and my wife the opportunity to experience the joys of raising a healthy child.”
