All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.
The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.
We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

Every year, 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide, and 1 million will die before their first birthday. Your gift helps the March of Dimes fund research, education, advocacy and programs that help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
2017 event co-chairs Ellen Slattery, of Gracies, and David Dadekian, of Eat Drink RI, and the event committee cordially invite you to the 16th annual Signature Chefs Auction, featuring the best in cuisine and mixology from around Greater Providence. Guests will also bid on a unique assortment of live and silent auction packages including experiences with the chefs, entertainment and travel, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the very special Fund the Mission initiative - all to benefit the March of Dimes mission to give all babies a healthy start.

They participate in an exclusive dining event while supporting a critical cause. Signature Chefs events feature local culinary talent who create a selection of fine cuisine for an exclusive audience. Our chefs are artists, innovators and philanthropists, and we look forward to sharing their talents at the event. Award-winning executive chef Ben Lloyd of The Salted Slate will lead an evening of culinary excellence at the 2017 March for Babies Signature Chefs Auction Chef Ben Lloyd studied Biology and Philosophy at the University of Scranton and then moved to Boston and began cooking at the Pillar House in Newton. After a year of cooking he attended culinary school at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. He left school with his first Sous Chef position in Raleigh NC. He moved to RI in 2002 from Raleigh and was with the Chow Fun Food Group from 2003 - 2011 running XO Café, XO Steakhouse and Café Noir. He then ran Tazza after its transformation from 2011 - 2014. He and his wife Nicole then opened The Salted Slate in mid-July of 2014. They focus on whole animal purchasing and utilization from our partner farmers in the area.
