All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

NEW LOCATION

This year we are thrilled to be hosting our event at the SLS Beverly Hills! Enjoy a two hour food and wine tasting in the Garden Terrace with some of the best chefs in LA. At 8:00, you'll grab your cocktail and head to the Albert Ballroom to finish the night with mouthwatering desserts and the live auction.

At March of Dimes, we believe that every baby deserves the best possible start. Unfortunately, not all babies get one. We are changing that.

EVENT LEADERSHIP

Thanks to the leadership of our volunteer chairs and committee members, we are honored to present this Signature Chefs event. After months of hard work, these volunteers have taken the event to new heights. The March of Dimes and the families we support are grateful for the generosity and effort of the team that made this evening possible. We are so excited and fortunate to have Todd Christopher, Partner at Gersh Agency, as this year's Event Chair. This year's goal is $750,000, and we look forward to surpassing it with his leadership.

HONORING: NANCY Silverton

This year we are thrilled to be honoring Nancy Silverton at our Signature Chefs Auction in Los Angeles. In 1990, Nancy was named one of Food and Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chefs.” Also that year, she was named “Pastry Chef of the Year” and “Who’s Who of Cooking” by the James Beard Foundation. In 2014, she received the highest honor given by the James Beard Foundation for “Outstanding Chef” as well as listed as one of the Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink by Fortune and Food and Wine Magazine. Nancy Silverton has an amazing capacity for embracing the beauty of wonderful food, and will undoubtedly continue to do so for the rest of her ingredient inspired life. Thank you Nancy for supporting March of Dimes.

This year we are excited to welcome Billy Harris as our March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction auctioneer. For the past twenty-five years Billy Harris has been wowing audiences around the world. A cousin of Vaudeville great Georgie Jessel, Billy has been performing his entire life. By the tender age of five and a half, he understood how to "work a room"!
 
Billy’s razor-sharp timing, comedic style and brilliant improvisational skills have made him one of the most sought-after Auctioneer’s in the business.
 
Billy has raised millions of dollars for Autism Speaks, Share Our Strength, The New York Food Bank, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Estee Lauder Foundation, The Roundabout Theatre, Hudson River Park, City Harvest, Wholesome Wave and Wellness in the Schools, just to name a few.

MISSION AMBASSADOR FAMILY

This year's ambassdor family is The Lacy's.

"At 19 weeks pregnant, we were so excited to go to the doctor and find out the babies’ genders. After announcing that we were having boy-girl twins, the doctor let me know that there were complications. He said there was little to no chance of my pregnancy lasting long enough for my children to survive. I went on bedrest and stayed there until the babies were born, 15 weeks early. When they were born they had everything wrong medically you could imagine. Contrary to the predictions of our doctors prior to their birth, they’ve had no long term defects. We left the NICU as a family of 4 after 103 days. They came home the day after their due date. Once my babies came home, one of our first outings was to the LA March for Babies. Standing in a sea of people who shared stories similar to mine was the first time I stopped to really exhale. I was overwhelmed by the amount of people and by the amazing stories of hope that I heard that day. It was an incredibly healing moment and I am so grateful for March of Dimes for facilitating it." -Kristie & Michael Lacy
