All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

EVENT DETAILS

Join us for our annual gathering of the area’s finest culinary talent in support of the March of Dimes. Upon arrival, you will enjoy the chance to sample our chefs’ creations for a 90-minute tasting experience before taking your seat for the Live Auction and Fund the Mission. Enjoy dessert while you bid on our unique packages, raising your paddle and giving generously to help babies.

MISSION AMBASSADOR FAMILY

This year's Mission Ambassador Family is the Schmidt Family.

"After having a beautiful baby girl in May of 2005, we decided to have another baby. I had a pretty normal pregnancy and was scheduled for a c-section on Friday. On Tuesday, after not feeling the baby move for a couple of days, I went to the hospital because I knew something was wrong. Dakota Everett was born still that Tuesday evening. That day, and the following four days in the hospital were the most challenging days of my life. While recovering from the c-section, I had to make decisions about seeing my son, having an autopsy, and having a funeral. We buried our little Dakota on April 27th.
My husband and I decided fairly quickly that we wanted to have more children. We started trying for another baby as soon as our doctor gave us the green light. We got pregnant soon after and welcomed a healthy baby boy into our family in December 2008. As excited as I was to have this new addition to my family, I couldn’t help but feel unsatisfied, soon realizing that I would still yearn for my Dakota. We got involved with the March of Dimes and the March for Babies event right away in Dakotas memory.
