All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

Join Event Chair, Dr. Regina Adair, MD for a unique opportunity to support moms and babies.

While how we are coming together has changed, we can still make a real difference for moms and babies, at a time when they need us the most.
 
We are following CDC guidelines to avoid mass gatherings and are rapidly preparing for an exciting, new format for our March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience.



The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Auction community are coming together in new, innovative ways to support moms and babies this year.

Data show that the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations in the world for childbirth. Over 700 women die each year from pregnancy-related causes, and the CDC reports that 60 percent are preventable. The preterm birth rate is on the rise. Two babies die every hour in the United States. By joining our Signature Chefs community you are making a big difference.

2020 AMBASSADOR FAMILY: THE TOMES FAMILY

I was about 29 weeks pregnant when I gave birth to Jinnie. I had an emergency birth due to placenta previa and had to have an emergency delivery.  The doctor was concerned about her lungs being under developed.  She weighed 4lbs. 7.5ozs and was in the NICU for 2 and half weeks. I don’t recall seeing her the day of her birth, but I was able to see her the afternoon the next day. I had to leave my daughter at the hospital which was scary to me but I traveled each day to see her and try to feed her. Jinnie struggled with feeding and I had many conversations with the nurse to understand what to look for with my daughter and it helped me with feeling comfortable caring for her. After her NICU stay, Jinnie seemed ok when she first got home but she had bouts of respiratory challenges from RSV to Asthma concerns. 

Jinnie is an 18-year-old graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and an incoming sophomore at the University of Kentucky. She is the current titleholder of Miss Indiana Teen USA 2020. Jinnie plans on becoming a psychiatrist who specializes in pediatrics. Miss Indiana Teen USA 2020
