The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

March of Dimes Signature Chefs Gala supports March of Dimes work to nourish all aspects of motherhood – from prenatal to postpartum by fueling change and ensuring all pregnant moms have access to care, addressing inequity in maternal health, and strengthening moms, babies and families.

From polio to prematurity, March of Dimes has been working to save babies for over 80 years. March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. We cannot do it alone. Together, with partners like you, we can achieve our goals of preventing preterm birth, preventing maternal morbidities and deaths, and closing the health equity gap. Prematurity is the #1 killer of babies in the United States. We are working to change that and help more moms have full-term pregnancies and health babies. From polio to prematurity, the March of Dimes has focused on researching the problems that threaten our children and finding ways to prevent them. Funds raised at our Signature Chefs Gala support programs, education, advocacy, and research so that every baby gets the best possible start.

Ambassador Family

The morning of November 8th, 2022 was just like any other, I was gearing up for another appointment with my OB and yet another ultrasound to check on the girls—a routine 29-week check-up. During that appointment, the doctor found that twin B, our sweet Lyla, had passed away. In an extraordinarily rare series of events, Lyla passed as a result of a cord accident that occurred when our girls became mono-mono twins, sharing both the placenta and amniotic sac. The next few days were a blur as a plan was established to deliver twin A, Anna, with the best opportunity for success. On November 11th, at 29 weeks and 3 days gestation, doctors delivered both of our girls, Anna and Lyla. Read more about the Juber Family story here. 

2023 Honoree

Dr. Gyamfi-Bannerman is Chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at UC San Diego Health, joining the faculty at UCSD in 2021 after 16 years on faculty at Columbia University. She also holds the Samuel SC Yen Endowed Chair at UCSD and is a Professor with Tenure. She is board certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine and​ conducts research in preterm birth. 

2023 Honoree

Meghan Warren has been a NICU nurse for over 7 years, and she has been at Sharp Mary Birch since 2021. Meghan grew up in Texas and attended the University of Texas where she obtained, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.  She is an Advanced Clinician, the chair of the Unit Practice Council and a member of the Family Partership Council. She received her RNC-NIC certification earlier this year.  

2023 Honoree

Dr. Christian Bannerman serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Emergency Department of UC San Diego Health System (UCSD) and an Emergency Physician at the Jennifer Moreno Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is a board-certified Emergency Physician who provides medical treatment to patients requiring acute and life-saving care.
