Event description

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

2025 Chairs: The Garner and Gill Families

We are honored to welcome the Garner and Gill families as our 2025 Signature Chefs Auction Chairs. As devoted parents and passionate advocates for maternal and infant health, both families bring personal stories that reflect the heart of the March of Dimes mission.

Brooke and Ethan Garner are proud parents of four children, including healthy twin girls welcomed after a pregnancy filled with both excitement and uncertainty. They are grateful every day for the medical care and research that made their smooth delivery possible. “We know that not every family is as fortunate—and we believe every parent deserves that same chance for a healthy birth.” Brooke currently serves as President of the MIS PTA Board, leading with care and commitment to her community. Ethan is Managing Director and Region Lead for Healthcare & Life Sciences Brokerage at JLL, where he works closely with health systems across the country.

Meghan and Umrai Gill are parents of three children, including their middle son, Bruno, who was born full-term but experienced unexpected complications requiring a stay in the neonatal intensive care unit. “Those early days were filled with worry, but thanks to skilled medical teams and decades of research-driven care, we were able to bring our baby boy home. Today, he is thriving—and our gratitude for the support we received in the NICU will never fade.” Meghan previously served on the March of Dimes Family Care Committee in Chicago and was involved with the Prentice Women’s Hospital Board. Umrai is Managing Director at Performance Trust Capital Partners and a committed supporter of causes that strengthen families and communities.

After serving on the Executive Leadership Team for the 2024 event, both families return this year to lead with purpose and heart. Their stories remind us why we gather—to give every family the best possible start.

2025 Ambassador Family: The Kirby Family

We are honored to recognize the Kirby Family as the 2025 Dallas Signature Chefs Auction Ambassador Family. Their journey is one of unimaginable heartbreak, enduring strength, and a deep commitment to supporting other families walking a similar path.

After a long road with infertility, the Kirbys were thrilled to learn they were expecting twin girls. But their joy quickly turned to fear as complications mounted. At just 25 weeks, one of their daughters, Kaylen, was diagnosed with hydrops fetalis, a rare and life-threatening condition. Though the odds were against her, Kaylen continued to fight—alongside her twin sister Kamdyn—until an emergency C-section was performed at 30 weeks. Kaylen lived for nine brave days before passing away. Kamdyn remained in the NICU for 63 days before finally coming home.

In the wake of devastating loss, the Kirbys created Kaylen’s Fight to honor their daughter’s legacy and provide strength to others navigating high-risk pregnancies, infant loss, prematurity, and extended NICU stays. Their story—and their determination to turn pain into purpose—is at the heart of this year’s event.

We are proud to stand with the Kirby Family as they continue to fight for families, just like theirs, across North Texas and beyond.
 

Culinary Chair & Lead Chef: Alex Lines

Alex Lines, CEO of Inline Hospitality, has dedicated his career to transforming restaurant concepts into thriving businesses and elevating the culture of the hospitality industry. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts at just 19, Alex honed his craft across the country in roles ranging from bartender and executive chef to project manager and general manager, before launching Inline Hospitality to help others bring their restaurant visions to life.

As a consultant and culinary leader, Alex has helped open some of Dallas-Fort Worth’s most recognized restaurants, including Off the Cuff, Pour Decisions, Buena Vida, Vidorra, and Feed Me Pronto. He also serves as Managing Partner for Thornhill Catering and Culinary Director for Alan Concepts, continuing to shape the region’s dining landscape. Along the way, his talents have been recognized with accolades such as Culinary Fight Club champion and multiple “Best Irish Pub in DFW” awards, as well as appearances as a celebrity chef for the NFL Draft, Chefs for Farmers, Iron Fork, and the State Fair of Texas.

In 2024, as Culinary Chair and Lead Chef for March of Dimes’ Dallas Signature Chefs Auction, Alex brought his vision, connections, and passion to one of March of Dimes’ premier fundraising events, enhancing the experience and helping to shatter expectations. This year, he is honored to return in the same role, once again guiding an extraordinary team of chefs in creating a memorable evening that celebrates community, culinary excellence, and the mission of healthier moms and stronger babies. Alex is most proud of his family—his loving wife, Hope Horan, and their two beautiful daughters—who inspire his commitment to building a brighter future for families across North Texas.

Your Host for the Evening: Gina Miller

Gina Miller isn’t just a journalist and sports executive; she’s a master of owning the room and bringing big moments to life. As the Vice President of Broadcasting, Media, and Communications for FC Dallas, North Texas SC, the National Soccer Hall of Fame, and Toyota Stadium, Gina has built powerhouse content strategies, overseen broadcast operations, and led PR campaigns.

A former sportscaster and Edward R. Murrow Award winner, Gina’s career spans Dallas, Los Angeles, Knoxville, and Guam, where she’s worked alongside sports icons and covered the biggest moments in pro sports. She’s hosted pre- and postgame shows for the Dallas Mavericks, Cowboys, Stars, and Rangers, earning multiple Lone Star Emmy nominations and recognition as WISE DFW’s Heart and Soul Woman of Inspiration and PRNews Changemaker. Today, Gina is a sought-after speaker and event host, known for her magnetic energy and storytelling. She’s taken the stage for global brands and organizations like FIFA, Major League Baseball, the PGA of America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, United Way, USA Basketball, and the Dallas Cowboys, empowering audiences to lead, communicate, and win.
