Still want to help us? FUND THE MISSION
All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.
The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.
We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!
We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:
Every year, 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide, and 1 million will die before their first birthday. Your gift helps the March of Dimes fund research, education, advocacy and programs that help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
David Dadekian has been called "RI's unofficial Food Laureate" by Philip Eli of the Providence Phoenix. He is the "mastermind of the food news website and event organizing operation- Eat Drink RI, who seems to know every chef, restaurant, farm stand & manufactured food product within state lines." Dadekian created Eat Drink RI (EDRI) in 2010, and over the past 4 years, eatdrinkri.com has grown to be one of the top media, marketing and event production companies in the region for all things culinary. In addition to the annual 4-day Eat Drink RI Festival, EDRI produces a variety of dinner series, offers the widest free event calendar and job listings, covers local news about chefs, restaurants and products, and works with a variety of non-profit organizations that support the local food sector. EDRI also produces several markets around the state, including 2 weekly seasonal farmers markets in Smithfield and the annual PVD Winter Lights Market in Kennedy Plaza with the City of Providence. David is proud to serve as our 2019 Rhode Island Signature Chefs Auction Chair, leading the charge to help ensure a successful, enjoyable and memorable event experience for all, in support of March of Dimes & the fight for healthy moms and babies.
Erin and Todd Yarbough had a long and arduous journey into parenthood. They experienced 8 miscarriages before finally becoming Mom and Dad to Elijah, born 8 weeks early in July of 2012 at just 2 lbs, 11 oz; and Xavier, born 4 weeks early in August of the following year at 5 lbs. Due to an incredibly rare placental condition called Maternal Floor Infarction, Erin learned that her chances of having a healthy baby were less than .01%. Both boys suffered many life-threatening complications immediately after their birth, and received excellent care during their stay in the Women & Infants Hospital NICU. Without the advances in neo-natal research funded by March of Dimes, the boys might not be here today. The Yarboughs' are honored to serve as our 2019 Rhode Island Signature Chefs Auction Ambassador Family and they look forward to sharing their story with our guests at the event in September. March of Dimes fights for the health of all moms and babies. We're advocating for policies to protect them. We're working to radically improve the health care they receive. We're pioneering research to find solutions. We're empowering families with the knowledge and tools to have healthier pregnancies. By uniting communities, we're building a brighter future for us all.
