All March of Dimes Signature Chefs events will be held virtually this year. While we may not be together in person, we rely on your continued support to provide innovative programs and services for moms, moms-to-be and babies who may be at a greater risk of becoming sick and not receiving proper or equitable care.

Event description

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

Upon arrival, you will enjoy the chance to sample our chefs’ creations for a 90 minute tasting experience before taking your seat for the Live Auction and Fund the Mission. Celebrity

After a successful 11-year career in the Big Leagues, Jim Leyritz has channeled his passion and commitment for helping others into raising money and awareness for numerous charitable organizations. With a deep-rooted connection to New York, Jim is involved in myriad of causes and particularly enjoys working with charities dedicated to helping children and at-risk youth.
 
Throughout his career with the New York Yankees (1990-1996, 1999-2000), Jim has been credited for significantly changing the momentum of several series’ by hitting numerous clutch post-season home runs. Nicknamed "The King”, Leyritz is perhaps best known for his three-run homer off of Mark Wohlers in the 8th inning of Game 4 in the 1996 World Series against the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his Yankee days, Jim also played an integral role for the 1998 San Diego Padres, leading them to the World Series by hitting 4 clutch homeruns and driving in 10RBIS as the Padres went on to play the Yankees in the 1998 World Series. Throughout his 11-year MLB career, Jim also played on the following teams: Anaheim Angels (1997), Texas Rangers (1997), Boston Red Sox (1998), San Diego Padres (1998-1999) and Los Angeles Dodgers (2000).
