Please note, in response to the rising number of COVID cases across the U.S., March of Dimes has adopted a COVID safety policy to safeguard the health of every guest, volunteer and family who gather at in-person events. This policy includes vaccine or testing (negative test results must derive from a test taken no more than 72 hours prior to the in-person event), as well as masking requirements for participation in March of Dimes events.

The chefs, volunteers and guests who make up our Signature Chefs Events community are coming together in new, innovative ways to suport moms and babies this year.

We are following state mandated guidelines in response to COVID-19 and will not have an in-person event this year. So, we are preparing an exciting, new Virtual Gala for your 2020 March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction experience!

We need your help now more than ever. Your support funds:

  • COVID-19 interventions and support for moms and babies
  • Programs that promote health equity for moms and babies and directly combat racial disparities in maternal and child health
  • Free virtual NICU support program for families
  • Virtual prenatal programs for moms-to-be
  • Educational programs, including live Facebook panel discussions, to get info into the hands of moms and families
  • Necessary supplies for expectant mothers including blood pressure cuffs and masks and so much more!

EVENT DETAILS

The Charleston Signature Chefs Auction is a 22 year strong tradition. With your help we can make a real difference for moms and babies, at a time when they need us most. March of Dimes premier fundraiser celebrates culinary excellence with top chefs along with a Silent & Live Auction and a compelling appeal to support the mission. Join us November 18 to raise critical funds for healthy moms and strong babies. As this years Co-Chairs, Marie J. Delcioppo & George Cooke with SMHa, have a key role in the sucess of the Charleston Signature Chefs Auction Gala. MEET OUR LEAD CHEF

We are excited to have Chef Tim Richardson with Hank's Seafood Restaurant as this year's Lead Chef for our Signature Chefs Auction. He will bring great leadership and the recruitment of the finest chefs, Charleston has to offer. Thank you, Chef Richardson!

Like many chefs, South Carolina native Tim Richardson gravitated to the kitchen as a teenager. Richardson relocated in 2001 to Charleston, S.C., where he enrolled in Johnson & Wales University and began mentoring at Hank’s Seafood Restaurant under founding Chef Frank McMahon. Today, Richardson’s culinary talent, passion for fresh seafood, and dedication to all aspects of running a restaurant serve him well as Executive Chef of Hank’s Seafood Restaurant, a role he earned after many successful years as the restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine. Tim recently was a finalist for Charleston’s best chef as voted by readers of The Post & Courier, Charleston’s Choice Awards. 

The Signature Chefs participating in the event, is what makes this event so amazing. Nowhere else can you have the best in culinary, all in one evening! This year's panel of chefs is sure to be the best yet. Our chefs are artists, innovators and philanthropists, and we look forward to sharing their talents at the event.
